The final 72 hours of Bali 9s Myuran Sukumaran
The final 72-hours in the life of Myuran Sukumaran, the Bali-9 convicted criminal who became an accomplished artist while in Kerobokan prison under the tutorship of artist Ben Quilty. Director Matthew Sleeth - who worked with Ben Quilty in Kerobokan Prison throughout Myuran Sukumaran's rehabilitation - creates an intimate, visceral portrait of Myuran during his last 72-hours. At the end of a life cut brutally short, in preparing for his death Myuran created incredible paintings. This film explores the extraordinary circumstances in which these works were created and Myuran's urgency to complete this powerful statement. Guilty presents Myuran's final days and his artworks as the perfect argument against the death penalty.
